The Weekly Report (4/7)

7 04 2008

This past week, we saw a great increase of traffic! I hope that we can maintain the increase this week, as we are avidly working on getting good content out, and exposing the site to more people. This week shouldn’t be any different, as we have a great lineup already. A podcast definitely will happen this week, as my robotics season is coming to an end. My last trip is to Atlanta next week, however, we won the New York City Regional this past weekend which was fun! As for Apple news, there is a growing amount of speculation and rumors over the 3G iPhone which will probably only continue to grow as the weeks progress. Have a great Monday!

The Weekly Report (3/17)

17 03 2008

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! We are continuing to keep content coming out on a regular basis. Even while on the road competing in Hartford last week, the other writers and I were able to get content out everyday. This week should be no different, and the podcast Sidney and I have been meaning to do will finally surface- I promise. The Apple news was fairly quiet besides the small rumblings of DVR patents, Intel SSD’s and 100,000 downloads of the SDK in four days. Maybe this week we will see more (AirPort Express with N?)- who knows?! Have a great day, and lets hope for an enjoyable week!

The Weekly Report (3/10)

10 03 2008

So yet another week has passed us by. We’ve been working diligently to get more content and so far, I would say we were successful. The site is back to its functional state again, and you should continue to see a steady stream of content. Because of a job I had to take on this weekend, Sidney and I weren’t able to record a podcast, but we will try to get it done before mid-week, as I am going to Hartford on Wednesday. In the Apple world, last week, we saw the introduction of the iPhone SDK to the public, which I must say- has been met with good reception. I was impressed with the Enterprise features and inspired by the SDK itself (which I have been playing around with). I think Apple and the iPhone are headed in a very good direction. Happy Monday, everyone.

The Weekly Report

3 03 2008

It has been a rough month for us- February has come and gone with no iPhone SDK. Last week, we saw an update to the aging Apple laptop line- with multi-touch! The SDK missed its late February target, announced by Jobs in October, but will be detailed this Thursday, March 6th in Cupertino. We should expect to see the applications approved by Apple and distributed through iTunes. As for theiLife, we have been slowly coming back to life after our two week absence. I have to apologize, but with one person writing the majority of content, it becomes hard to do daily when I have to do lots of other things. We will definitely see more content this week, again, sorry for the empty site.

The Weekly Report

25 02 2008

We’re back again! After our two week absence, we will be back to our normal posting methods. This week is the last week in February- in fact March begins on Saturday! Everyone has been anticipating the release of the iPhone SDK, which is looking like it will be delayed until March; didn’t I say “Late February” was a give away?! We are also expecting some kind of announcement tomorrow, most are speculating MacBook Pros (with Multi-Touch trackpads). Apple has made a consistent record of releases every Tuesday since Macworld so I don’t know what to make of it (if anything). As for theiLife, I will be traveling to Trenton later this week, so Sidney and I might shoot for an audio podcast- look out for it coming late this week, maybe even the weekend. Enjoy your week!

We Are Back! The Absence Note

21 02 2008

Okay, its been a very long time! I have to say, we are sorry! Over the course of the last two weeks, I have been incredibly busy, working on a 5 foot, 120 pound robot for the 2008 FIRST Robotics Competition. Every year, we get a new game and 6 weeks to build a robot during the “Build Season”, which ended on the 19th. Now, for the next 6 weeks, my team will be going to various competitions to play against teams from across the world. All this robot building has severely hindered content on theiLife.com, and I have to apologize for the lack of it during my absence. We will resume regular work tomorrow and will be in full swing next week. Thanks for sticking with us- feel free to contact us anytime.

Website News!

4 02 2008

Ahh, time for a weekly update!

This past week was one of serenity- Macworld is gone and we have sorted out most media from it. Sidney and I recorded a podcast wrapping up Macworld. Spanning over this coming week, you will be seeing the remaining interviews we have from the Expo- but besides that Macworld 2008 is done for good.

Over last week, we added Twitter integration into the site along with a dedicated “theilife” AIM screen name. We are really trying to reach out to our viewers (you guys!)- because there are a growing number of you and we really thank you all for coming back. We want to be open to questions, suggestions and any feedback you have for us or the site.

We are trying to provide a unique perspective on Apple and technology in general. We are open to anyone wanting to join us- be it writing, coding, drawing or whatever. If you want to become apart of theiLife.com, just contact us! We want to make the site a diverse place- by getting more people involved, the better we become.

Have a happy Monday! How about those Giants last night??

Super Bowl XLII Coverage

2 02 2008

Super Bowl XLII Coverage

Many, many, people will be watching the Super Bowl tomorrow. Some watch just for the advertisements. That includes us — but as an added twist, theiLife will be at the computer, looking out for the Apple ads and providing a real-time count on the site. Apple is known to run ads during the Super Bowl — particularly special ads (read 1984 or iTunes+Pepsi). If there’s a new Apple commercial, we’ll be first reporting on it. Watch the game and check the site in case the bathroom calls and you miss this year’s Apple special. Coverage starts at 6:18PM, EST.

Video is encoding…and more updates.

28 01 2008

I have to apologize for the lack of updates today- we have been busy encoding the gigabytes of interviews from Macworld. Late, yeah we know, but there is only two people running this site! Regardless, I have readied a bunch of interviews that will be appearing over the corse of this week (as they finish rendering). Additionally, Sidney and I will be recording a podcast on Wednesday which you should see later this week. Of course, you can expect the regular text posts as well (just not today). So keep tuned for the interviews- there should be at least one out within the hour. Feel free to contact us via email, Twitter or on AIM (theilife) with any questions, concerns, etc.
